Tri-M Music Honors Society provides new instruments for Uzumba Boys band Students and faculty of Tri-M Music Honors Society at Raleigh Charter High School in Raleigh North Carolina are fundraising to provide new musical instruments and equipment for the Uzumba Boys band. New instruments will be purchased from concert ticket sales and individual donations. The Uzumba Boys band consists of 5 members who hand-crafted their own instruments and live in a rural area North-East of Harare Zimbabwe. Check back for updates on the Uzumba Boys journey. It is a program of the National Association for Music Education, an association of over 85,000 music education professionals nationwide who realize the importance of motivating students and recognizing musical achievement. Tri-M exists to recognize high school music students for their efforts and accomplishments in music on the basis of musicianship, scholarship, character, cooperation, leadership and service to their school and community. Tri-M's purpose is to serve the school, the community and individuals by sponsoring events and opportunities throughout the year that promote the musical arts.
