MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- Kids in Morrisville got a taste of their past and culture
on Tuesday. Many gathered together at the Morrisville Town Hall in celebration
of Black History Month.
Kids got an opportunity to listen to Jonathan Daniel, a storyteller and wire
artist from Zimbabwe. Daniel talked about his experience growing up in Africa
and how he created opportunities for himself as an artist, despite coming from a
poor family.
“Dr. King believed in himself and he gave himself to what we now enjoy as
freedom and I think they need to believe in themselves that they can do anything
that they set their mind to do,” Daniel said.
Daniel is based out of Holly Springs. His wire art creations range from
automobiles to planes to animals.
